"Whimsical Garden" with Tina Curran
This is Tina's most popular workshop. The pattern uses two techniques -- regular piecing to make the background and raw edge appliqué to make the foreground. What’s fun about these quilts is that they all come out differently, based on what the students bring to class. It’s a great opportunity for students to swap elements for greater variety in their compositions.
One of the workshop-sized Whimsical Garden quilts using floral fabrics is featured on the supply list. Tina has made the quilt pictured above using non-floral fabrics (this one was made with all patriotic fabrics). A project like this is an option for people who don't collect floral fabrics (and/or want to make a wall piece to use up scraps from another project).
Purchasing the pattern for the class is recommended by Tina but it isn't required. Tina will bring copies of the pattern for purchase with her ($12 each). But if any students would like it ahead of time, it's available for purchase in her shop on Etsy.com in two formats:
